Big Bang. El inicio

Big Bang. the Beginning

Big Bang, the Beginning is the first piece in the collection El Botijo Cuántico, representing the primordial moment of the universe’s creation.

Its elliptical and polished form evokes the cosmic singularity prior to expansion, a state in which all matter and energy were concentrated in an infinitely dense point.

Unlike a traditional botijo, this piece lacks a spout, symbolizing the absence of defined structures in the earliest moments of the cosmos. Before time, before space, before any recognizable form, there existed only absolute potentiality.

Its surface reflects the surrounding environment like a miniature event horizon, capturing light and matter in a play of reflections that recalls the curvature of space-time. The absence of edges and its glossy texture allude to the opacity of the early universe, before light could escape and shape reality as we know it.

In this photograph, the hands shaping the clay evoke the primordial instant of the Big Bang, when matter began to take form from a point of energy and absolute possibility. The gesture, suspended, tense, and deliberate, symbolizes the moment in which the universe emerges from its initial chaos, transforming the formless into structure, and connecting the creation of the botijo with the foundational act that gave rise to time, space, and everything that exists.
